The Bougainvillea Hideaway

Enter a hollow of leaves and fuchsia flowers. Random thoughts litter the floor like a bed of crushed petals.

Typical late February post

It's been a fairly busy week. And every time I turn around another week has flown by.

So good bye February.

March, do you have any more snow planned for us around here? If you do, please snow over the remains of the last snowfall. It's not so pleasant to look at. Better yet, if you do have any planned for us, might you reconsider? It seems that most people who live here are tired of so much snow. Maybe send rain instead? (talk with March finished)

I'm not sure if there will be any daffodils in the garden on the western side of our house this year. We had our landscape guy remove some overgrown weeds, a cactus and and the hosta plant last autumn. Then he mulched the area. (He was able to take the cactus home so I felt less bad about removing the other plants.) So perhaps the bulbs are still under the mulch. I hope so. And it makes sense that they should be. Well, in any event, I guess we need to decide what plants would work best there so that it won't just be mulch and the cropping up of weeds.

I wish I were more of the dedicated, knowledgeable gardener sort. I love growing stuff. And I have grown stuff. But every year I end up not making a plan of what I'd like to grow and where everything should best be planted. Part of it is laziness and part of it is the time factor thing. But the Time Factor Thing seems to be part of an Excuse Thing. So I'll try to kick the Excuse Thing out: The kids and I have been talking about creating a little garden area.

So, yeah, I'm ready for it to be March, April, and May. Forsythia. Tulip Magnolias. Cherry Blossoms. Daffodils. Flowers. Color.
