Happy St. Nicholas Day (a day late)!

We woke up on Saturday morning to another gray day. Only this particular gray day was much better than most gray days. It snowed! We got the snow I had been hoping for and it wasn't just a dusting either!
The kids had a good time throwing snowballs at each other and Andy,
making a snowman, and then rolling down hills. It was also a perfect hot cocoa day.
Once when I went to check on everybody I caught a really beautiful scene. It was still snowing pretty steadily and the ground was covered over in white as were the trees. I looked across the creek at my favorite oak tree and saw three or four crows perched in the tree. Then they began flying about and then perched again on a different branch. I didn't have a camera handy or I would have taken a picture. I wish I could describe the scene better. It was just breathtaking.
And we remembered to put our shoes under the tree. St. Nicholas found them.
Tonight was a nice sort of evening. We spent it talking with friends and drinking cider and coffee and eating desserts.
The only downer to today was the way in which the Skins lost the game against the Saints. Though it's cool that the Saints are having such a great season (and the Colts too).
