Journal Entry

I've been thinking about journals today. And the people that keep them. And the frequency with which they write in them.

I've kept a diary/journal from the time I was 7. But the frequency with which I've written in a journal has never been a consistent every day event. Sometimes I'd write in the then current journal every day for months, other times I'd go for months without writing a word. And in the more recent past it has been years between entries. And the last word I've written in my current journal was in May.

I have noticed that my blog is much like my journal in that I might post something nearly every day for a while and then nothing at all for a lengthy bit of time. It makes me wonder if other journal keeping sorts that have blogs notice a similarity in blog posting frequency to journal/diary posting frequency.

I also have been thinking about blogs in general and the different reasons for keeping one. Mine has mainly been about poetry. Though in the last year or two it has had more youtube videos and pictures of O'Neill events. Recently, I've been thinking of adding in everything I'm interested in at the moment. It's hard to know, though, if that makes it more interesting, more boring, more whatever.

And then that thought leads me to the thought of all my "me" based blogging. And I'm split on what I think of that. I love reading blogs (or any of those other blog-like thingums) where bloggers post about their lives, the way they see things, etc, plus stick to their favorite hobby or profession. But I also love blogs that don't do that, or rarely do that. I love blogs that are informational. So, hmmm.

So, yeah, maybe I'll just add stuff that's been in my brain for the day. Grab bag. Who knows what you'll get.
