The Bougainvillea Hideaway

Enter a hollow of leaves and fuchsia flowers. Random thoughts litter the floor like a bed of crushed petals.

It's funny. This year I'm more accepting of September's arrival. I enjoyed August and camping and all that but September's entrance was nothing too terribly bad. I'm actually looking forward to early autumn. It's also funny (and a little annoying) that year after year I can't not talk about the different seasons.

But, oh well.

Right now the house is cozy, though still a little cluttered (though I'm working on it). The kitchen is filled with the aroma of a newly lit mulled cider candle. And I got most of the things done that needed doing today so everything's all rather nice at the moment.

Yay!

"The Flowers" - R.L.Stevenson. I read this one to Ro today during school. I've enjoyed all Stevenson's poems in A Child's Garden of Verses and this one was particularly lovely. So enjoy!

I haven't really read much poetry lately beyond reading RLS's poems. Last night I realized that I've missed reading poems so I opened The Penguin Book of the Sonnet and read a few sonnets. Maybe reading it will spark me into writing a poem or two! Here's hoping!
