The Bougainvillea Hideaway

Enter a hollow of leaves and fuchsia flowers. Random thoughts litter the floor like a bed of crushed petals.

Big Meadows, Skyline Drive

"The Enchanted Forest" Well, that's not really what it's called. But it should be. And it's actually not located in Big Meadows. More like five miles from the entrance to Skyline. In another week or two all of the leaves will be bright yellow. Breathtaking is a good word to use here.

I love the colors in this one. Even though many people have trudged along this pathway, there is something about it that feels almost secret-like and that this particular path might lead to a hidden hideaway.

Andy, Ronin, and Oona standing in a field of ferns that seems to go on and on forever.

Andy took this shot. I'd like to frame it. The colors are amazing. My eyes are drawn to the individual shapes of the ferns, trees and clouds. The prevalent wave-like pattern is pleasing.

I like the contrast of the white wildflowers framed by autumn color in this picture.
