The Bougainvillea Hideaway

Enter a hollow of leaves and fuchsia flowers. Random thoughts litter the floor like a bed of crushed petals.

sick computers and messy rooms

Our computer caught cold, but now is on the mend. Completely better, in fact.

While away from the box I took the opportunity to read poetry, more poetry, art books, and part of the new Anne Rice book. I know once again what it's like to be startled awake from books falling from the bed to the floor.

I've always tried to stick to reading just one book at a time. Never had too much luck with that. Certainly not now. I've probably cracked open fifteen or so with nothing but the best intentions to finish every single one of them. And my word is true. It just takes time getting to the finish line. But, hare or tortoise, I always cross that line.

I feel like I read hopscotch style. Let me clarify. I start a book. It reminds me of a topic, or conversation, or anything else. I find another book in my collection that relates to the connection and am interested in that particular topic for five minutes or five months, and that in turn leads to some other related subject, and it continues on and on and on. Sometimes this is annoying. Sometimes it's great fun!

I had ambitions once to be a one book, cover-to-cover sort of girl, but...

You?
