What Luck!

I brought an apple to one of the ground feeders Sunday night. When I filled the other feeder today, I noticed that part of the apple had been eaten. Which birds might have liked it? Upon closer examination, however, I saw many ants feasting on it. I checked again a few hours later. This time a bird had discovered the apple. I had never seen this particular bird before - at the feeder, or otherwise!

Most likely it was a gray catbird. I read that their diet consists of insects and fruit.

Fun fact:
A group of catbirds is a mewing (or a seat)!
