sea song
A rush of sea-lace and pebble
sings to me as I wring the wash
and set it on warm stones to dry.
They sing songs of the Selkie,
songs of my people,
and of an aria half remembered.
I rock little Emma to sleep at night
with lullabies once sung to me.
And the song of the waves threads thick
like sea kelp to tangle our memories.
sings to me as I wring the wash
and set it on warm stones to dry.
They sing songs of the Selkie,
songs of my people,
and of an aria half remembered.
I rock little Emma to sleep at night
with lullabies once sung to me.
And the song of the waves threads thick
like sea kelp to tangle our memories.
