Grackles. (Or: Apparent?)

For the last day or two, I've noticed a young grackle with its parent near the ground feeder. I'm assuming it's fairly young because it follows the other grackle around with a wide mouth and keeps calling until it is given food. Today, however, the other (parent) grackle flew off while the young one was trying to follow it. After a time, I did notice that it started picking at birdseed on its own.
